Stringcredible Apprentices is an ongoing training programme for young musicians and music professionals created to develop communication skills.
Following the guidelines “Pitch Pace Perform”, the participants are taught to:
1. Pitch – understand the qualities of different audiences and what they might require from performers
2. Pace – to create a vibrant, perfectly paced series of pieces with clear aims and messages
3. Perform – to work on their sound production, ensemble skills, expression, posture, stage presence, spontaneity and public speaking, to allow them to truly “perform”.
The programme now has funding for a further 3 years from Arts Council England (2017 – 2020) and has expanded to include workshops and training for conservatoire students and peripatetic music teachers.
The Stringcredibles work in partnership with Birmingham Music Service, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire.
